I am a designer proudly based in San José, California. I currently reside in San Francisco where I am working on my B.A in Design and Masters in Education at the University of San Francisco.
As a designer, I am completely influenced by the Bay Area, especially the music and other local artists from my generation. I grew up listening to all kinds of music, but I have always stayed true to Bay Area Hip Hop. The culture behind Bay Hip Hop is not understood anywhere else but here and that is exactly what I love about it. The Bay is an area of the world that has its own culture, and we are so committed and so loyal to our own brand of music and culture. Performers directly connect with their fans in a very powerful way because they share the same fortunes and struggles. I strive to have this connection with my audience. The raw talent that I see in other artists my age pushes me to work harder and to always strive to be innovative and fresh. The network that I have created in the past eight years has taught me to value the importance of collaboration. Too often, an artist is seen as a lonely person, slaving away at their craft. This doesn’t need to be the case. I love working with my friends to build a piece of art that uses various strengths and weaknesses in order to come to fruition.
